+ all you need is
According to the heavenly chinese divination and fortune telling mambo jambo, I, along with millions of other Ox-year-borned people are suppose to suffer from pretty shitty luck for this entire year. I'm a firm non-believer of horoscopes, fortune telling and their likes, but honestly, all that negativity is just too good to not indulge in. And true enough, my luck had been pretty shitty since the nine replaced the eight. I guess to put it shortly, things are not working out the way I'll like them to.
But I had a strange run of good luck this week. An ex colleague passed on a few jobs to me, I worked a bit and met two photographers that gave me a little bit of encouragement. One told me to just go ahead, dive into the deep end, go overseas and shoot like mad, while the other taught me a simple lesson. She asked what I wanted to do, I told her my story and the thing is, I guess I made my goals sounded a lot more difficult to get to than it already is. So she said: "If things come so easily, no one will cherish them.
I type this out now and it may sound corny, but at that moment and premise, it sounded like a verse of lyrics lifted off from any of the many inspiring Beyond classics. At the end of it all, I can't help but to feel grateful for the little tiny bits of kindness shown to me by this friend and the two photographers that I hardly know.
Things aren't so bad, really. I'm pretty sure everyone of us will get through in due course, economic recession, ridiculous ERP taxes or what not. Like they always say, All You Need Is Love.
